Mexico City- The violence in the country left a balance of 26 thousand 920 murders, reported the Security Cabinet.
In its daily report it was established that the last day of the year closed with 62 intentional homicides, of which eight were registered in Baja California, seven in Edomex and five in Sonora.
The figure means a reduction of 4.4 percent compared to what was reported by the same Cabinet in 2021, which was 28,160 cases of intentional homicide.
The fourth year in office of Enrique Peña Nieto (2016) closed with 20,148 complaints for intentional homicide, according to the National Public Security System (SNSP).
In the same fourth year of Felipe Calderón (2010), 20,143 cases were reported.
The fourth year of President Andrés Manuel López Obrador reports a 33 percent increase in intentional homicides compared to his predecessors.
In 2022, violence intensified in Colima, which ended with a rate of victims per 100,000 inhabitants of 99.24, followed by Zacatecas with 72.11, Baja California with 66.71, Morelos with 51.45, Sonora with 48.91, Chihuahua with 47.80, Guanajuato with 47.13 and Michoacán with 46.45.

In addition to the 14 deaths that were reported during a riot of inmates in the Ciudad Juárez prison, Chihuahua, the authorities reported another seven in different events.
Yesterday an armed group arrived at the prison in at least six armored trucks and carried out an operation to extract some inmates.

In Cereso, members of the criminal organizations “Gente Nueva” and “La Línea”, armed wings of the Sinaloa and Juárez cartels, respectively, and various branches of these, are also being prosecuted.

In this context of violence, nine intentional homicides were recorded in Veracruz, nine cases were reported in Edomex and eight in Guanajuato, according to the official report.
