Last week, Microsoft announced the layoff of 10,000 employees, including some at 343 Industries, the studio behind the Halo license. Since then, many rumors have surfaced around Halo Infinite and the franchise. The studio did not wait very long to try to provide an answer to this more than vague situation.

343 takes the floor, but does not really provide an answer

Pierre Hintze, having recently taken the direction of 343 Industries following the departure of Bonnie Ross, expressed himself this weekend via various networks by a very short press release which does not actually allow to know more.

Halo and the Master Chief are here to stay.

343 Industries will continue to develop Halo today and into the future, with epic stories, multiplayer, and other elements that make Halo great.

By this press release, the developer does not deny the slightest rumor, leaving doubt still hanging over the probable franchising of the license to other studios. Note that 343 Industries does not mention the term “games”, only the “development of Halo”.

This speech allows at least to ensure the involvement of 343 Industries in future opuses, while some would like the torch to be passed on to another development studio in view of the disappointment caused by the latest productions.
