Monterrey.- A pick-up truck in which alleged armed criminals were traveling overturned on the highway to Colombia, leaving 4 dead and one wounded, in Villaldama.
The accident was reported at kilometer 81 of the aforementioned road in the direction of Monterrey-Villaldama, where the sand-colored Ford Ranger unit with Nuevo León license plates was left.
When municipal police and rescuers arrived together with paramedics, the death of 4 people was confirmed, two of them between 25-30 years old and another two between 40-50 years old, who were not identified.
No details were given about the injured man, who was about 35 years old, and he was transferred to a hospital with police custody.
The authorities, seeing that they were carrying a rifle, at least 3 chargers and one of them wearing camouflage clothing and a bulletproof vest, cordoned off the scene and informed detectives and experts from the Attorney General’s Office.
Since Thursday, the Mayor of Villadalma, Luis Sepúlveda, reported that armed men had attacked a municipal patrol with bullets, and requested support from personnel from the State Agency for Investigations and the Civil Force.
