Newcastle United have apparently put out feelers in the direction of Sergej Milinkovic-Savic (27). According to ‘Il Messaggero’, the Magpies are preparing a big transfer package for the Serbian midfielder from Lazio Roma. The offer is said to provide for a transfer fee of 60 million euros for the Laziali and a bonus of 12 million euros for the international.
In addition, Milinkovic-Savic beckons a whopping salary of ten million euros per season, according to the Italian daily. Even though Lazio president Claudio Lotito has denied any rumors of the box-to-box player’s departure, the pressure on the Serie A club seems to be mounting. Milinkovic-Savic is only under contract in Rome until 2024 and has not yet sent any signals that he wants to extend the working paper.
Juventus Turin and Arsenal FC are also in the right-footed orbit as other potential buyers. With the Magpies, however, the plans for an offer seem to be more concrete. In addition to the economically extremely attractive offer, Newcastle could possibly even offer Champions League football in the coming season. The magpies currently rank third.
