Rapper 50 Cent wants to adapt the film 8 milesinspired by Eminem’s beginnings in rap, in series.

More than 20 years after its release, the film 8 miles will be adapted in series. In a media interview Big Boy TVthe American rapper 50 Cent confided his desire to decline this feature film, based in part on the career of his friend the artist Eminem, on the small screen.

The interpreter of candy shop has also clarified that the rapper from Detroit is aware of this project imagined to ensure his “legacy” and highlight what he has brought to the world of music since his debut in 1988.

“I’m going to bring ‘8 Mile’ to TV. We’re working on it. […] I think this show is important for its legacy and for younger generations to understand its impact,” 50 Cent said during this interview.

“Offer much more detail”

According to 50 Cent, this series should provide many precise elements on the true history of Eminem, in particular on his beginnings in the rap.

“I want to be able to show and offer a lot more detail. You’ll see those things surface in the narrative and the temperament of the characters,” he detailed.

Released in 2002, 8 miles tells the story of Jimmy Smith Jr., an American teenager who takes up rapping to tell his life on the road 8 mileswhich separates the white suburbs of Detroit from the black neighborhoods.

This film, directed by Curtis Hanson, won the Oscar for Best Original Song for its track, Lose Yourself in 2003.
