The second edition of the Remind GNP festival in Mexico City captivated us with a lineup that spanned several decades and diverse genres, leaving us eager to see Revisiting Creedence, Kool & The Gang, Beto Cuevas, La Gusana Ciega and many more.

The Bicentennial Park was the headquarters of the Remind GNP, which we confirm that it is an incredible family festival that started the activities early and gave us several surprises linked to memories and nostalgia (as a plus, all this happened under an ideal climate).

Top tier acts at Remind GNP

It’s amazing how much music from previous decades, no matter how distant they now seem, continues to have an impact today. For example, we saw many people with their sons and daughters enjoying of the various bands that performed at the Remind GNP.

The Lords and the Blind Worm

From boot with The Gentlemen, the atmosphere of the Remind GNP pointed to a very entertaining time travel. The blues band was in charge of starting the activities that gave way to other acts on the Bermuda stage with genres such as soul, rhythm and blues and funk.

On stage Living is incredible, La Gusana Ciega once again confirmed the guarantee that they are live. With many people already gathered to see them, the band prepared a special set for the Remind GNP. rolls like 1987They were a direct trip to the pastsince the group even commented that there was a time when there were no cell phones and you had to wait outside the club for the person you wanted.

Beto Cuevas

Beto Cuevas he was in charge of continuing with the music and he was grateful to have a schedule during the day to see the faces of the people who follow him and who went to Remind GNP. The Chilean gave us a set that was, to say the least, full of choruses from the audience with songs like I come backy Everything is perfect”, an ideal premiere song for before night fell.

Closing with themes of La Ley such as Liey HereBeto gathered many fans who chanted among entertainers with the colors of the Remind GNP, something that we loved during the festival.

Los Gipsy Kings

The Gipsy Kings at Remind GNP was an unstoppable dance, and is that the band has a particular rhythm. All the musicians we saw on stage are virtuosos on their instruments, showing some magnificent improvisations and performances of Catalan songs such as swayy Fly.

Kool & The Gang

The best act of the Remind GNP, without a doubt, was Kool & The Gangwith an impressive display of talent that included live brass and lots of dancing to songs like Get Down On It”, “Fresh”, “Ladies Night” and the safety pin Celebration”, in which the Remind GNP was transformed into a massive dance floor. People showed off their best steps and the diversity of generations proved that good music is timeless.

Revisiting Creedence

Traveling further back in time, Revisiting Creedence brought to Remind GNP the songs of the iconic bandand before a full stage, they played “Susie Q” y “Have You Ever Seen The Rain?”, among many others, with an audience that knew all the songs of the Californian band.

A journey through time loaded with nostalgia

Entre sets del Remind GNP, there was music from bands like Queen, Soda Stereo, and many more that had their best years decades ago. Along with the animation of the staff and choreography, the people did not rest even when they were preparing the stage for the following performances.

We note that the Remind GNP activations were a direct call to nostalgia, with retro televisions and posters of bands from the seventies and eighties, or neon lights that also allude to the nightlife of the past.

The gathering of several generations of attendees made the festival a memorable day for entire families, or for friends who listened to bands many years ago that were presented at the Remind GNP.

Remind GNP: A well-produced and comfortable festival to explore

The audio was great throughout the festival, without a single glitch, and the schedules of both scenarios were fulfilled according to the program. With no audio crosstalk, the bands took advantage of a phenomenal production to show off in their performances.

Kool & The Gang’s brass or Revisiting Creedence’s guitar solos were amazing moments that remain in the history of Remind GNP. And we know this not only because of the festival’s level of production, but also because of the audience’s response.

With much better weather than forecast, Bicentennial Park was a venue that felt intimate, since the distances were designed so as not to get tiredand no matter where the bands were viewed from, the Remind GNP stages sounded good.

The Bermuda stage had a design based on a hippie van and hosted funk and rhythm and blues acts that brightened our afternoon, with versions of artists like Stevie Wonder and Michael Jackson.

Transfers on the Remind GNP took no more than 5 minutessomething strange but nice for a festival (other festivals in this same place manage distances of up to 15 minutes walking between stages, which can be a bit tiresome, don’t you think?).

And what about the Remind GNP services?

Services like the toilets or hydration zone had no lines, and even the food and drink options were very closeand it didn’t take more than 10 minutes to get something in stores.

The Remind GNP is a unique festival, with a very clear proposal and that year after year brings acts that are difficult to see elsewhere, and it is important to emphasize that it does so with error-free production. It is a celebration of the past that we look forward to in the coming years.

With two editions in its brief history, Remind GNP makes us speculate about the artists that could come in the coming years. Who would you like to see in a future edition of Remind GNP?
