A driver who fatally injured, on Saturday, a person traveling in a special cart on DN22/E87, in the town of Smârdan in Tulcea county, was detained by the police. He was drunk and his driving license was revoked.

“On September 23, around 3:30 p.m., a man reported through SNUAU 112 that there was a road accident on DN22/E87, at km 94-95, in Smârdan township, resulting in a victim. A crew from the Road Service, a forensic specialist and an ambulance went to the scene, which confirmed the death of a man”, informed IPJ Tulcea, quoted by Agerpres.
From the first investigations, it emerged that the deceased man was traveling on the road with a wheelchair for people with locomotor disabilities, being hit from behind by a car.
The driver was tested with the breathalyzer, which indicated the value of 0.64 mg/l of pure alcohol in the exhaled air.
At the same time, following the checks carried out in the database, it emerged that the man’s right to drive has been revoked.
The man was detained for 24 hours, to be presented to the court with a legal proposal.
