The government of Iran executed a former deputy defense minister after being charged as a spy for the UK. It was about Alireza Akbari, a man with dual citizenship who was convicted of “corruption of the land” and acting against national security for functioning as a British spy.
According to the Government of the Asian nation, Akbari had started working for MI6 in 2004, where he leaked information from various people in the upper echelons of the army to the British Government for 5 years, until the European country recommended that he leave.
