LEGO Ideas speaks Italian: in fact, the set has just been presented A-Frame Cabin (simply Cabinin the Italian version of the set LEGO Ideas #21338) by Norton74to the century Andrew Lactantiusthe first Italian project to become an official LEGO Ideas set.
Real mass phenomenon in the United States, the sheds and cabins in general are theobject of desire of thousands of Americans looking for a place away from the frenzy of big cities, often (and deliberately) without any connection to the internet and set in wooded areas where silence and tranquility reign, possibly near the shores of one of the many lakes in the areas of the Northern United States and Canada where nature still dominates. There are different types, shapes and fittings, but the most sought after are precisely those built in wood and distinguished by the typical shape of “TO”.
The buildable and display model of the set LEGO Ideas #21338 Cabin it features the iconic sloping roof that can be easily detached to allow access to the living spaces, which are themselves rich in detail. On the upper floor we can find the bedroom, while the living room, study and small room are located on the lower floor open kitchen.
Outside the building we find a terrace with steps leading to the open air and a woodshed.
All the environments are rich in details and accessories, so as to reproduce the typically welcoming setting of these buildings designed and built to unplug from the frenzy of everyday life. The set also includes buildable models of 3 trees with different colored foliage that can either be connected to the cabin or connected to each other to form an island (in case you want to display the model in a lake setting) and a canoe with related accessories.
Included in the set are 4 minifigures complete with accessories and 11 LEGO animals, including a red and a blue bird, a frog, an otter, a squirrel and 2 moths.
Contrary to what usually happens with LEGO Ideas projects, the new set LEGO Ideas #21338 Cabin is virtually identical to the original design of Andrew Lactantius
Indeed, if we exclude one simplification buildable models of the trees that accompany the building, the cabin A-Frame it is practically identical to the one that many voted on the LEGO Ideas platform. In particular, all fans of Norton74 (and we also believe Andrew Lactantius himself) have very much appreciated that the set LEGO Ideas #21338 Cabin maintained the construction technique of using Thor’s Hammer (minifigure accessory) for the stone foundation under the Cabin.

LEGO Ideas #21338 Cabin

It had been the same Andrew Lactantiusto enter the detail of his project in the interview (in English) which he released some time ago for the LEGO Ideas blog and the 10K Clubs and in which he reminded us of a detail that concerns each of his projects, namely that each of them is accompanied by a story. The one linked to the A-Frame Cabin is:
Two brothers, Dan And Ethanwho tired and fed up with today’s hectic life, have left all modernity behind them to be able to live more simply in nature.
Talking about his project, Andrew he said:
I was leafing through a book dedicated to the strangest houses around the world and I discovered the A-Frame: the wooden cabin that recalls the “A” shape. It was love at first sight! I started with a sketch, in order to have a clear vision of what I should do and then I built my project in about 10 days
The log cabins in general and those A-Frame in particular they are such a mass phenomenon in the United States that they have given rise to a substantial bibliography of volumes dedicated to how to find them, how to restore them, how to furnish them or even more simply composed of photos of the most beautiful huts built around the world, such as eg Cabin Porn: Inspiration for Your Quiet Place Somewhere or The Modern A-Frame.
The model, whose incredibly rustic and charming look that transmits us the positive vibes and tones of earthMeasures over 11″ (28cm) high and 17″ (44cm) wide when built. Inspired by the A-frame log cabins one would expect to find in remote wilderness areas and make buildings of this type the perfect retreat from the hustle and bustle of city life.
The model has nature as its central theme, so many forest animals are obviously included.
As for the interiors, this is how the Baita looks like A-Frame once removed the steep roofs, which seem to lean Interlocking with the sides of the structure and without any direct connection with the frame of the hut itself.
As far as the living areas are concerned, as mentioned above, on the upper level of the hut we find the fully furnished bedroom which includes a Easter eggs very nice: one item tiles printed (or perhaps with an adhesive applied, from the photos it is not clear) that reproduces The Blue Cottageanother project by Andrew Lactantius and earlier than the one he then nominated on the LEGO Ideas platform.
Nature and outdoor life are, as already mentioned, the key themes of this set and therefore the portion forest and all the creatures and small animals that you meet along the way are the perfect setting for the excursions of the inhabitants of the hut around the same.
In the description of the set that we can find on the LEGO Ideas website, it is reported that in the set there have been hidden two buildable micro versions of LEGO Ideas sets from the past.

The set is unquestionably thought out (so much by Andrew Lactantius as from the LEGO Ideas Designers) to be exhibited and, thanks to the images uploaded online by LEGO, we can get an idea of how beautiful this new Cabin really is A-Frame: With such an intricate aesthetic and building experience we have no doubt it will be phenomenal, we are sure that many will buy the set at the day one.
The set LEGO Ideas #21338 Cabin it will be available for purchase starting next February 1st only for members of the LEGO VIP program, to then be made available to anyone starting the following February 4th. From 1 May 2023 however, the product will also be available in the Toys Centers.
In reality there are two Italians who have seen their project become a LEGO product.
If in fact that of Norton74 it is the first LEGO Ideas set that we can define Made in Italythere is also one of the sets produced under the initiative Bricklink Designer Program promoted by Bricklinks (which since 2019 is 100% owned by the LEGO Group). It’s about the project Winter Chalets Of sdrnetto the century Sandro Damiano.
Fan Designer well known for his projects and his MOCs (My Own Creation) theme Winter Village (but not only), Sandro he had reached 10,000 votes in time to join the Third Session of Review 2019 of the LEGO Ideas platform with its Winter Chalets (at this link you can find the interview – in English – that Sandro released some time ago on the LEGO Ideas blog for the 10K Clubs), which however saw the triumph of other (three) projects: Mom I missed the plane, The Typewriter And Seinfeld.
Thanks to the programme/initiative Bricklink Designer Programa series of LEGO Ideas projects that reached the review stage and were rejected during their respective sessions, have been recovered as projects crowdfounding (with a mechanism that we are not going to explain to you because it is long and destined to be completely rethought when it is proposed again). Among these, we can find just the Winter Chalets Of Sandro Damiano. His project will in fact be part of the third and final round of recovered LEGO Ideas projects, voted by fans (with an option to purchase) and whose deliveries should start shortly.
At this point, there is nothing left to do but wait for the announcement of the arrival of the other approved project in the same Review session of the project of the A-Cabinor the one inspired by the phenomenon K-POP (source: Wikipedia) of the moment: BTS’ Dynamite.

I’m Josh Bretz (from the US state of Indiana) e Jacob (from New York), met on LEGO Ideas respectively with i nicknames JBBrickFanatic (Josh) e BangtanBricks (Jacob), the two authors of the project to present it to us in the interview (in English) that they released some time ago for the LEGO Ideas blog and the 10K Clubs.

The project celebrates the worldwide success of Bangtan Boy’s hit, “DYNAMITE”! The music video reached 100 million views on YouTube in less than a day and one billion views in less than 8 months! The diorama recreates iconic scenes from the music video with authentic detail and stunning scenery! Of course, LEGO minifigures of band members are included: Namjoon, Jin, Suga, J-Hope, Jimin, V and Jungkook! Each module of the building can be separated from the others, so you can choose the preferred configuration to be displayed!
