By Toutatis ! The most famous of the Gauls will soon experience new adventures on the big screen. Head to China with Asterix and Obelix: The Middle Kingdom, in theaters February 1. For the first time, the film does not take up the story of an album by René Goscinny and Albert Uderzo but is an original creation, produced by Guillaume Canet, who also plays the title role. In front, Gilles Lellouche takes on the role of the one who fell into the pot of magic potion when he was little. The actor thus replaces Gérard Depardieu, who has lent his features to the famous Obélix in all the opuses of the cinematographic saga until then. The rest of the cast sees the fine flower of French cinema and many guests, sometimes unexpected (rappers Big Flo and Oli, former footballer Zlatan Ibrahimovic, singer Angèle…).

During the second round, a new “Asterix” family will be opposed to a new “Obelix” clan. Thus, Guillaume Canet will resume service alongside Leanna Chea (Tat Han), Vincent Desagnat (Perfidus) and Issa Doumbia (Baba), while Gilles Lellouche will team up with Bun-Hay Mean (Deng Tsin Qin), Julie Chen (Princess Fu Yi) and Philippe Katerine (the bard Assurancetourix).
