After a neighborhood discussion over the use of fireworks on Christmas Eve, a 17-year-old teenager was stabbed in the back in the city of Mar del Plata, judicial sources reported today.

The 17-year-old boy was attacked in the Florencio Sánchez neighborhood, in the southern part of the seaside resort, after a confrontation in which another neighbor was also beaten. As confirmed by judicial sources, the event occurred in front of a house on 2600 Talcahuano Street, where a group of adolescents was found using fireworks around midnight.

There, the 22-year-old owner of the property argued with the minors and was attacked with blows, and minutes later one of them was injured in the back with a knife, at the height of the left shoulder. The injured adolescent was taken by relatives to the Hospital Interzonal General de Agudos “Dr. Oscar E. Alende”, and later intervened in the personal place of the 5th Police Station.

The Functional Instruction Unit 4, in charge of the prosecutor Andrea Gómez, initiated a case for “aggravated minor injuries and aggravated threats” and requested a series of measures to determine if the owner of the house was the one who stabbed the minor.
