Hope for strategy fans who don’t feel addressed by the games on offer so far: A new civilization is in the works. 2K announced today that industry veteran and Firaxis Games Chief Operating Officer, Heather Hazen, has been promoted to Studio Head. This begins a new era of development at the studio responsible for Sid Meier’s Civilization, XCOM and the recently released Marvel’s Midnight Suns.
As Studio Head, Hazen will oversee Firaxis Games’ development teams with the goal of creating the best strategy games in the world. Hazen has 22 years of experience in the games and entertainment industry and joined Firaxis Games in 2020 as the studio’s Chief Operating Officer.
