According to the last survey of “Fair Prices” made by the FundPlata Foundation in the Buenos Aires capital, 79.4% compliance was recorded during the last week of December 2022. “While there are compliance disparities between different hypermarkets, the overall level of compliance is high. Hence, December 2022 marks a positive break, while contributing to the reduction of the inflationary rhythm in the food sector,” added the professional.
And revealed that “The hypermarkets that registered the highest level of compliance -with 95%- were Coto (Centro Casco Urbano) and Cooperativa Obrera (Centro Casco Urbano); while those with the lowest compliance were Vea (Centro Casco Urbano), with 40% and Maxiconsumo (Ringuelet), with 55%”.
Depending on the type of product, Galizzi pointed out that “Dairy products such as whole milk and butter were the ones that were found in all the gondolaswhile the same occurred with the furniture polish within the cleaning category and with the shampoowithin the perfumery category”.
“In counterpart, drinkable yogurt was the dairy product that integrated to a lesser extent the gondolas labeled with ‘Fair Prices’ in all the hypermarketswhile within the perfumery category, we also noticed the absence of toothpaste as part of the program,” he explained.
