A woman is arrested after starring in a movie shooting at a Miami Beach bakery

One person is in custody in connection with a shooting Monday night just outside a Miami Beach bakery that left two people injured.

Witnesses say that without the quick action of the authorities the episode could have been worse. “He fired three bursts of five, six shots, wounded a man but was shooting at everything that moved,” said Hector Castillo, who was at the Moisés Bakery in Miami Beach when the shooting began.

Just steps away from him, was the person who pulled out the firearm. “She fired from the door of the bakery …she was sitting outside at the table in the bakery and he was like covering with the door and shooting outwards”, recalls Castillo.

Marvelis Rodríguez, who works at Moises Bakery, remarks that “this was a lady who had been sitting outside for about two hours, she did not buy anything and she had a nervous attitude and suddenly they heard certain shots … she went in here, the door closed, she shot, every Every time he was going to shoot, there was the door and there were about 9 detonations… we ran out and called the police.”

According to police, the shooting occurred around 6:52 p.m. Monday, when officers responded to the establishment located in the 7300 block of Collins Avenue and located two victims with apparent gunshot wounds.

Both injured were transported to the Trauma Unit at Jackson Memorial Hospital.

“I saw a man who was wounded on the other side of the street who wounded him in the legs and shot a car where some children were inside,” Castillo said.

“They caught her easily here, she tried to raise the weapon with the policeman but the policeman quickly pointed it at her and told her to take out the weapon, she threw it,” says Rodríguez

Officers confirmed that the person believed to be involved was taken into custody and also recovered a firearm. At the moment, the reason for which he fired is unknown, but the authorities do not believe that it was a random attack.

“I felt very scared, the noises were very loud, it was chilling, there were customers here,” Rodríguez reveals.

The good news is that the victims did not receive life-threatening injuries and are expected to recover.

“All of us who were there tried to protect ourselves but it is something that you do not expect,” says Hector Castillo, who witnessed everything that happened.

Detectives are investigating what led to this incident. Anyone with information should contact the Police at (305) 673 7901.
