At least 12 people died in an accident involving a construction truck in the Turkish earthquake region of Hatay. Health Minister Fahrettin Koca said on Twitter on Saturday evening that 31 people were injured, three of them seriously.

The DHA news agency reported on Sunday that a construction truck had collided with another truck the night before. The construction truck got out of control and caused an accident with nine cars and two minibuses on the opposite lane. Some vehicles caught fire.

Three months ago, severe earthquakes shook the south-eastern Turkish province of Hatay and other regions. More than 50,000 people lost their lives. Rubble and rubble from destroyed houses is still being cleared away in the area. (dpa)
