As in the past, Elon Musk has harshly judged Instagram, which he accuses of making people unhappy. But the boss of Twitter remains lucid on his own social network.

It’s a tricky question that Elon Musk posed to his 126 million Twitter followers. The new boss of the social network asked on Monday January 16 which of the platforms was the best between his and Instagram.

“Instagram makes people depressed and Twitter makes them angry. What’s better?” he said. in a tweet.

A tendency towards positivity

This isn’t the first time the billionaire has hit out at Instagram. In 2018, Elon Musk had taken advantage of a passage in the podcast The Joe Rogan Experience to give his opinion on the platform, recalls Business Insider. According to him, the biggest problem with the photo-sharing network is that “people seem to have a much better life there than in reality”.

As for his new venture, Elon Musk has left the door open for a more positive Twitter. A user asked him if it was possible to design a social network to make people feel good. The leader then indicated that Twitter “could have a tendency to positivity”. “We will try to make that more the case,” he promised.

Finally, another user gave Elon Musk advice: “no longer follow politicians and journalists”, ensuring that he spent his days laughing thanks to Twitter. The boss then assured that he “laughed a lot on Twitter” as well.

Elon Musk’s question about choosing between Instagram and Twitter comes days after the leader speculated he should “spend less time on social media”. A dropped sentence on Twitter in response to a study on isolation in the United States, showing an increase in the number of people without close friends over the last thirty years.
