The increase in prices to be paid by ADSE to private hospitals for carrying out examinations and consultations was approved. This is the second price increase in just one year.

ADSE will increase the prices it pays for exams and consultations to private individuals with whom it has agreements for the provision of medical services.

This increase intends torecover acts and doctors who have been leaving of the agreements with the ADSE and avoid more exits“, explains to the newspaper Public the representative of the beneficiaries of the ADSE board of directors, Eugénio Rosa.

This official notes thatone of the biggest problems ADSE faces results from the fact that the providers, namely the large health groups (Luz, Cuf, Lusíadas, Algarve hospital group, Trofa) have removed many specialty consultations, exams and surgeriesand also doctors, namely the most distinguished ones, with the justification that the prices paid do not cover costs nor do they permit acceptable fees to be paid to physicians”.

Thus, ADSE advanced with a price increase proposal that was analyzed and approved by the government. This approval took a month and a half to arrive, but finally, the revision of the table of the ADSE agreed regime will advance.

This proposal came after the pressure from the association representing private hospitals who regretted the increase in costs in the sector, due to inflation.

It’s the second time in the space of a yearthat ADSE increases the price to be paid to private parties for agreed services.

ADSE ceased to be funded by the State Budget in 2014, and is now financed exclusively by contributions from public officials. But the health system remains under the supervision of the State through the Ministries of the Presidency and Finance.
