The final of the champions trophy had expelled from Boca and Racing (Télam)

This Wednesday the amnesty in Argentine soccer was confirmed, which includes all the categories and divisions that are part of the AFA. Obviously, the main focus is on the clubs of the Professional League that begins this Friday and that they benefit from this decision that started at the request of the leaders.

After the meeting of Executive committee only the final approval of the Disciplinary Court which will give the go-ahead on Thursday. The reason for which this measure was taken, which will be reported in the Official Gazette, is the extensive stoppage as a result of the Qatar World Cup that prevented the players from being able to comply with their sanctions in 2022 and having to wait until activity returns this year. In this way, all the footballers who had received punishments of three or fewer games will not have to comply with them and may be available for the start of the season.

It should be remembered that the power to request amnesty corresponds purely and strictly to the AFA Executive Committeewhich is made up of the president of the mother house Claudio Tapia, the vice president Jorge Amor Ameal (president from Boca Juniors) and the general secretary Víctor Blanco (Racing).

In addition, it is valid to clarify that, as occurred in previous amnesties governed in the orbit of Argentine soccer, serious sanctions will not be contemplated. For it is, Dario Benedetto (fined 4 dates for his expulsion at the end of the final against Racing of the Champions Trophy and the subsequent gestures) is the only footballer who will have to serve the sanction in the Professional League.
