Majors starred in the Netflix film “Da 5 Bloods” and the HBO series “Lovecraft Country‘ and previously appeared in minor roles in ‘When We Rise’ and ‘Hostiles’. With this move, Marvel Studios goes back to its early days, when it often cast unknown, aspiring actors in central roles. With ‘Eternals’ this procedure has been discontinued in the meantime.

Now Majors is supposed to embody the super villain Kang the Conqueror in “Ant-Man 3”, which makes sense given his time travel abilities, but that he meets the ant-man of all people comes as a bit of a surprise. After all, in the comics, Kang has often been the opponent the Avengers, the Fantastic Four and even had to do with the super being Adam Warlock.

He made his debut in the 1963 “Fantastic Four” comic and has since received an extensive backstory. Born as Nathaniel Richards on another earth in the 31st century he first traveled to ancient Egypt and became pharaoh there. After an encounter with the Fantastic Four and Doctor Doom in the 20th Century, he wanted to escape back in time, but overshot his goal by 1000 years and ended up on a devastated Earth. Since their inhabitants had forgotten a lot, Richards conquered large parts and called themselves kan. As such, he set out to conquer further, still undestroyed earths. He doesn’t even have any special superpowers, but mostly relies on them advanced technology and weapons from the future.

Not to forget: Majors has already embodied the role in the Disney+ series “Loki”. Here he was only called “He, who remains” and was the least evil variant of Kang. Whether this version will be seen again is questionable.
