Tottenham Hotspur are considering sacking Cristian Stellini. This is reported by several English media such as the ‘Evening Standard’, ‘Sky Sports’ and ‘The Athletic’. Assistant coach Ryan Mason is considered a possible temporary solution until the end of the season.
The threat of Stellini’s expulsion was preceded by yesterday’s 6-1 smack at Newcastle United. Of the four games under the 48-year-old Italian’s management, Tottenham only won one, while Spurs lost two games.
The London club is fifth in the table, six points behind the Champions League zone – fourth-placed Manchester United still have two games to play.
Stellini, previously an assistant coach, took over for his sacked boss Antonio Conte at the end of March. At Tottenham Hotspur, Julian Nagelsmann is one of the long-term and currently favored solutions from the summer.
