En Turkey, after the violent earthquakes at the start of the week, the deployment of humanitarian aid appears to be insufficient. It is in this context that the International Federation of Red Cross and Red Crescent Societies (IFRC), which brings together the 192 member countries, has launched an appeal for donations to collect 70 million euros. This sum is deemed necessary to respond to the consequences of this deadly earthquake. “The country is facing a major disaster,” explains Muhammed Alperen Zengin, communications officer for the Red Cross in Ankara.
What is the current humanitarian situation there?
