The man ran over an elderly man and his dog in Ljustorp, and was arrested the same day on suspicion of, among other things, aggravated causing the death of another and aggravated drunken driving. Prosecutors decided not to arrest the man and he was released. Two weeks later, a car chase was started for the man south of Sundsvall – in between the man committed several crimes.

Then, according to the indictment, between March 6 and March 9, the man will carry out a car theft, theft and he is also suspected of brand forgery, that he mounted another vehicle’s registration plate on the stolen vehicle.

Additional offenses are carried out between March 8 and March 10. Then the man allegedly entered a padel hall in Sundsvall, stole a jacket that contained, among other things, car keys and after that he allegedly took the car. The man also allegedly stole goods from the stolen car.

Charged with 16 crimes

On March 10, the police were alerted to a car driving at high speed on roads south of Sundsvall and they took up the chase. The car could not stop until a police car had to pull it off the road. During the intervention, the police also allegedly fired at the car.

The man was arrested again and this time prosecutors chose to request that the man be detained – something that the Sundsvall district court decided to do.

He was charged with 16 crimes and denies all except drug offenses – which he admits.
