The chef, former candidate for season 13 of Top Chef participated in the development of the menu of the fictional restaurant of Gabriel (Lucas Bravo) in the new season of the Netflix series.

Far from being the main plot of the series, food nevertheless occupies a prominent place in Emily in Paris. After the success of the Modern bakery since its appearance in the program and a special mention for the Mc Baguette sandwich from Mc Donald’s, it is the turn of Gabriel’s restaurant to be honored in the series.

In previous episodes, this chef played by French actor Lucas Bravo opens his own bistro which he calls Les Deux Compères, but in this new season, Gabriel transforms his establishment into L’Esprit de Gigi: an upscale restaurant, inspired by the cuisine of his Norman grandmother.

Norman specialties revisited

And to make this change, Netflix called on a real French chef, Thibaut Spiwak. Former candidate of Top chef in 2022, this young cook, awarded a green star in the Michelin Guide for his Parisian restaurant Anonadrew up the entire map of Gabriel’s fictional new establishment.

On Instagram, the 35-year-old chef also detailed the different dishes he imagined for the series. We thus find on the menu revisited Norman specialties such as a flower tart and Pont-l’Evêque mousse with Isigny cream, shellfish served with a roasted brioche or a candied candied pepper apple with compote with honey and pollen.

Although appetizing, these dishes are however not available on the menu of Thibaut Spiwack’s restaurant, which opened in 2018 and is located on the boulevard des Batignolles in Paris.
