Star Wars productions are linked on Disney +. While Lucasfilm has put cinema releases aside, the series follow one another very quickly. After The Mandalorian which will be released on March 1 on the streaming platform, other productions are pointing the tip of their noses. This is precisely the case of Ahsoka on which the entertainment giant relies heavily. The opportunity for us to come back in four points on everything we already know about this series.

What is Ahsoka’s story?

The synopsis revealed by Lucasfilm is not the most talkative but it already gives us an idea of what we can expect: “In the aftermath of the fall of the Empire, ex-Jedi Knight Ahsoka Tano investigates a latent threat that could upset the fragile balance of a still-vulnerable galaxy…”.

Remember that Ahsoka is a former Jedi apprentice trained by Anakin Skywalker. We have seen it in the animated series The Clone Wars and Rebelsbut also in live-action in The Mandalorian and The Book of Boba Fett.

A first trailer released during the Star Wars Celebration last year suggests that the series will take up elements seen in the animated series, and in particular Rebels. Something to sell dreams to fans, and bring a fairly stimulating scenario for neophytes.

Some also imagine that the series could offer several temporalities with many flashbacks presenting different moments in Ahsoka’s life. Last year, director Bryce Dallas Howard, had also confided: “Without giving anything away, I think you’re going to love the upcoming Ahsoka series. (…) what I can say is that as a fan of The Clone Wars, you will be greatly rewarded. »

What casting for Ahsoka?

Jon Favreau and Dave Filoni are the two creators of the series. This duo was already at work on The Mandalorian. With these two at the helm, we can be quite confident, especially since Dave Filoni is a big fan of this character that he created himself.

In the role of Ahsoka, we find Rosario Dawson, a seasoned actress who we have already seen at work in Daredevil, SinCityor Boulevard of Death. At his side will be Natasha Liu Bordizzo (Most Dangerous Crime). We also announce Hayden Christensen who could play Anakin Skywalker for flashbacks, or even Darth Vader directly.

These characters that we hope to see in the series

Among the character names that could appear in Ahsoka, we find some heroes like Ezra Bridger and Sabine Wren from the animated series Rebels. Another big name: Grand Admiral Thrawn their main antagonist who is already mentioned in The Mandalorian.

Charismatic, this atypical villain differs greatly from Emperor Palpatine. Endowed with an extraordinary strategic intelligence, he is also distinguished by his in-depth knowledge of the culture of the different species of the galaxy. We are therefore not faced with a protagonist simply greedy for power as we have seen too often in Star Wars.

Ahsoka, the very physical role of Rosario Dawson

Finally, it’s worth noting how preparation for Ahsoka hasn’t been smooth sailing for Rosario Dawson. The actress confided in Vanity Fair last year : “I’m not one to exercise, and I’m in my 40s to play the most physically demanding role of my life. Ahsoka is not someone who gets tired. I can’t play it like a human. She’s a tireless alien. She is precise. She has the level of a master. The challenge is for me to show myself and express that…”

So she trained hard to leave nothing to chance: “I’m a huge fan, and I don’t want to look and be like, ‘Yo, Ahsoka’s hand seems a little shaky there.’ »
