An email has been sent to members of Air France KLM’s Flying Blue loyalty program, indicating that the company has suffered an infiltration. Several personal details were potentially compromised.

The Air France KLM group warned several customers that their data would potentially be compromised following a cyberattack on January 6, 2023. The airline was targeted by a cyberattack, so far only members of Flying Blue – the loyalty program – would be affected.

An email was sent to potential victims, stating: our security operations teams have detected suspicious behavior by an unauthorized entity in connection with your account. We immediately implemented corrective measures to prevent any further exposure of your data. »

The stolen data would be the following: last name, first name, email address, telephone number, program identifiers, number of miles points and last transactions.

“Change your password”

The group has not publicly communicated on this cyberattack. Internet users alerted KLM on Twitter for more information, to which the group replied that ” the attack was blocked in time and no miles were charged. However, you are prompted to change your password.. »

To note Troy Hunt’s apt remarkfounder of the leak monitoring platform haveibeenpwned.comwhich adds in commentary: Listing a bunch of exposed data and prompting people to change their password doesn’t feel like ‘time-locked’‘”. No file has been spotted on the forums frequented by hackers for the moment.

Airlines represent prime targets for hackers: the number of customers, VIP members and travel information sell for good prices on the dark net. TAP Air Portugal fell victim to Lockbit ransomware in August and American Airlines suffered a data breach around the same time.
