According to the Sunday newspaper, in the sworn declaration of interests that Soto presented before the Special Electoral Jury (JEE) to apply in October 2020, the debt for civil reparation recorded in a judicial file did not appear.
Soto added that, in May 2021, the Third Preparatory Investigation Court of Cusco notified him “as jointly and severally responsible for the debt, which was immediately regularized, in accordance with the established procedures.”
Soto was denounced in 2012 by the transport company Tourist Wayna Picchu for two irregular acts that he carried out when he was his legal advisor: the first for not complying with drafting the company’s statutes, despite the fact that he received a previous payment; and for selling a piece of land he owned at a price much higher than what he had paid.
