According to official figures, of the 1,209 accidents reported from January to April last year, 2,116 occurred in 2023, a figure that corresponds to January 1 to May 4.
This increase was reflected in the number of injured people, since the number of victims almost doubled, since from 431 injured in the first four-month period of 2022 it rose to 800 in 2023.

The first reports indicate that at least six children were injured in the mishap reported on Cordillera de los Andes street.
The driver, as reported by Gabriela Cota, spokesperson for the District Attorney’s Office in the Northern Zone, obtained his freedom since the unit had civil liability insurance and assumed the repair of the damage to those affected.
Road deaths also increased
At the end of April, 39 people were injured and one died in an accident involving a GER corporate personnel transport truck, which was transporting workers from the Foxconn maquiladora company.
The fatality was identified as Eleazar IA, 40, who was traveling in a gray 2002 Nissan X-Terra truck with Chihuahua state license plates.
The Road Safety report indicates that the balance of the mishap is “the product of recklessness, of not driving correctly” by the bus driver, Gilberto PC, 62 years old.
The CGSV reported that between January and May 4, 39 people died in various road accidents in Juárez; from January to April 2022, 30 fatalities were registered.
Of the total of 2,116 accidents, 1,966 were crashes, 111 were run over and seven overturned, the rest were various types of mishaps, announced Arlín Vargas, spokesperson for the corporation.
