There are very few days left until we finally see one of the most interesting movies of DC Studios: Blue Beetle. The superhero, despite not being part of James Gunn’s chronology, will be one of the heavyweights of the franchise’s new Extended Universe. However, it seems that he will continue to have references to the Snyder Versespecifically his flagship character.
Through an interview with Nestor Betancordirector Jose Angel Manuel Soto revealed that his respect for Zack Snyder is enormous and, to pay tribute to the height, the filmmaker has added numerous references to The Man of Steelthe film that started this entire universe that once tried to reach the fashion franchises.
“Waking up in Mexico with the news that Zack Snyder also wants to see it, a director I respect so much, that his films are an immense influence… Even in Blue Beetle there are references to Man of Steel that we made out of honor and respect for the work and art by Zack Snyder”.
Even though that him reboot of the DC Extended Universe imminent, it is undeniable that without the work of Zack Snyder, none of this would have happened. Henry Cavill’s Superman will be remembered by all, and while Corenswet will likely do great as Clark Kent, he won’t have that Kryptonian hero aura that the British actor did.
What we do know is that Blue Beetle It will be a festival of references, both to Latin culture and to other media that have been very important to Soto, such as anime or video games. Jaime Reyes will land in theaters around the world next August 18, 2023.
