After several structures and personalities spoke about the affair linked to Amira Bouraoui, it was the president of the national movement “El-Bina”, Abdelkader Bengrina who spoke.
Indeed, he published a statement on his official Facebook page on Wednesday, February 8, 2023 denouncing the violation of national sovereignty by official organs of the French state.

In the same statement, he explains that these actions that violate national sovereignty are unacceptable and break the standards of good neighborliness and mutual respect.

Bengrina adds, that it speaks “as a political party, an elite party and citizens” and that it is attacking the sovereignty of our homeland or interfering in its internal affairs.

At the same time, it recalls that respect for the principle of equality and consideration of the interests of others have become essential to building a common future based on good understanding between neighbours.

Finally, he adds that he does not advocate war or constant hostility, but is more a defender of lasting values, centered on the stability, security and prosperity of a “Mediterranean without foreign influence”.

Amira Bouraoui case: the Ministry of Foreign Affairs reacts

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs and the National Community Abroad issued a statement on Wednesday February 8 in which it expressed its position on the case related to Amira Bouraoui.

In this press release, the ministry therefore informs the French Embassy of “Algeria’s firm condemnation of the violation of national sovereignty by diplomatic, consular and security personnel under the responsibility of the French State who participated in a clandestine and illegal operation of exfiltration of an Algerian national whose physical presence on the national territory is prescribed by the Algerian justice”.

As a reminder, the political activist and journalist was arrested on Friday in Tunisia where she ran the risk of being sent back to Algeria. However, she was finally able to board a flight to France on Monday evening after being placed under consular protection at the French consulate in Tunis.
