Mexico City.- During tonight’s encirclement, at the National Palace, President López Obrador brought together the four presidential ‘corcholatas’, whom he called to avoid division and guarantee unity for 2024.

According to the testimony of some of those present, the President called for “unity, so that the movement does not crack” and “avoid internal division.”

Sitting in the center, the President placed Ricardo Monreal, coordinator of Morena in the Senate, to his left, whom he had not received since December 2020.

On his right side, the Secretary of the Interior, Adán Augusto López, was seated.

The Head of Government, Claudia Sheinbaum, was located next to Monreal, while Foreign Minister Marcelo Ebrard occupied a chair next to the head of Segob.

AMLO was the only speaker and expressed to the senators from Morena and allied parties the list of pending issues that are a priority for his Administration.

The senators arrived at the Palace aboard two buses, which made their way thanks to the transit elements of the capital’s police, since the first box is practically collapsed and closed due to the concert offered tonight by the Spanish singer Rosalía.

The private trap is recorded in the midst of the crisis that the Senate is going through, whose rostrum has been taken over by the Opposition since last night.

The legislators of the PRI, PAN, PRD and the Plural Group demand that the pro-government bloc, made up of Morena and her allies, process the appointment of the three vacant INAI commissioners, since, otherwise, the autonomous body lacks a quorum to operate.

Despite the protests, the president of the Senate, Alejandro Armenta, announced that the upper house will meet in an alternate venue that is yet to be defined.

Inside the National Palace there is a Legislative Enclosure, reopened in August of last year, which has been used by the President to present some of his reports.
