Schiaparelli got the ball rolling from 10 a.m. on Monday 23, with in particular the very noticeable appearance of Doja Cat in an outfit made of 30,000 Swarovski crystals. Dior followed suit, while Jean Paul Gaultier, Valentino and Fendi will close the week of parades. Tuesday January 24, 2023, Virginie Viard presented her Chanel collection for spring-summer 2023 in front of an audience made up of very recognizable faces. Actors, athletes, models and musicians traveled to the French capital. A few shots taken at the ephemeral Grand Palais (7th arrondissement) reveal this five-star cast in its most beautiful trappings.

A Chanel show with a very special decor

Anna Wintour, editor-in-chief of vogue American, was obviously in the front row of this prestigious parade. At his side, director Baz Luhrmann (Moulin Rouge, Gatsby the Magnificent, Elvis), but also Roger Federer and his wife Mirka Vavrinec. The sports couple had a front row seat to attend the parade, the animal decor of which was designed and produced by the artist Xavier Veilhan. Wooden animals of immense proportions and small cardboard boxes rub shoulders on the catwalk. A subtle nod to the interior of Coco Chanel’s former apartment, located at 31 rue Cambon, known for its many sculptures and other charms in the shape of animals. On the American side, Sofia Richie, Lucy Boynton (Bohemian Rhapsody) and Sadie Sink (Stranger Things) made an appearance in the ranks of the Parisian hall, to marvel at the new suits in tweed and pastel colors, matched with gloves lace and top hats. Belgian Angèle seduced in a little black dress and matching bows in her hair.

On the French side, national stars have also made notable appearances. Marion Cotillard and Carole Bouquetwho was the face of Chanel n°5 in 1993 and 1997, sat side by side to watch the models pacing the stage. The two Caesarized actresses were photographed with the British Tilda Swinton, dressed in sequins and satin for the occasion. To stay with the family, Charlotte Casiraghi, the daughter-in-law of Carole Bouquet, was also present at the event. Her suit set in pink tones was reminiscent of the dress choice of Vanessa Paradis, with whom she posed during the morning parades. Former model Ines de La Fressange, who paraded for the iconic brand in the 80s, has not missed the call either.
