Guild day of the Satteins craftsmen’s guild with honours, lecture and cellar visit

SATTEINS The traditional craft fair with parish vicar Gerold Reichart and the flag parade to the guild meeting in the primary school hall heralded the guild day marking the 325th anniversary of the Satteins craftsmen’s guild. Other highlights were a guest lecture on the craft of constitutional law dr Ewald Rein as well as a visit to several old vaulted cellars in the municipality of Satteins that are still unknown to many.

guildmaster Alphonse Lins welcomed the guests, including the designated mayor of the municipality of Satteins, on behalf of the Satteins guild of craftsmen Andrew Dobler. Guild masters were among the special guests at the event Franz Huber and Christopher Klohs from the artisan guild Göfis-Frastanz, guild master Stefan Glatz from the Großhammer guild Feldkirch, guild master Christian Heim from the craft guild Oberer Walgau and guild master Josef Maehr from the craftsmen’s guild Schlins-Röns.

The craftsmen’s guild Satteins honored their long-standing members this year. Special honors were given this year for 40 years of membership Georg Siegler, Sepp Hermann, Franz Sauler, Norbert Bader, Norbert Lins, Hanspeter Bischof, Erich Zimmermann and Hubert Frick, who were immediately unanimously appointed as honorary members by the Board of Directors. was honored as well Ulrich Dobler for sixty years of membership.

The one who grew up in Satteins dr Ewald Rein studied law in Vienna and has been teaching at the Universities of Salzburg and Vienna since 1984. In his guest lecture “Constitutional law as a craft”, the university professor was able to give interesting insights into his profession and explain how laws are made.

Guild master Lins gave an insight into the diverse activities of the previous year. An anniversary event on the subject of water took place, on the day of water the music association and the band “Guat & Billig” played for the inauguration of the elevated tank and over three days 380 schoolchildren were guided through Satteins on the waterway.
Another highlight was the joint excursion to the partner municipality of Ladis.

In the afternoon old vaulted cellars were visited. “Unknown Satteins” presented on the tour Hubert Metzler the vicarage and its underground treasures, where all kinds of high-proof Satteins products were tasted. We continued into the basement of the Christa house, where Herbert Christa invited. This house has a long history and once housed a grocery store and later a shoe store.

The vaulted cellar of the old “Schäfle” was Robert Hausle presents. Brewing was once done here and beer was served in the beer hall. In the centuries-old saddler’s house Arnold Lins behind the thick walls, guests are welcomed in the vaulted cellar. Here the Walgau winegrowers presented Robert Gohm and Raimund Dünser latest vintages. In the evening, the guild day ended comfortably with “blieb-a-biz” in the Gasthaus Sternen. HE
