An employee of the Shell service station in Monte Carlo was hospitalized this afternoon after receiving a bullet in one of his feet in the middle of an assault that he suffered a few meters from Banco Nación, an entity located in the heart of the city to which he was going to make the collection deposit.
The criminals, who were two and one of them would have acted barefaced, escaped from the scene with a box full of cash and at this time they are being sought by the security forces.
Police sources reported that the attack occurred around 11 in the morning and the employee was intercepted by criminals a few meters from the vehicle from which he descended, on Herm street. The circumstantial witnesses heard at least four shots from a firearm, apparently to cover the escape, one of which hit the victim who was initially treated at the scene and later transferred to the hospital.
The assailants, according to the information provided by some people, escaped towards Paraguay street, for which reason different police units began an extensive operation in the area and managed to find the clothes they were wearing near a stream in the Martín Fierro neighborhood, not very far from the bank.
The injured employee said that the criminals had a local accent and although they have not yet been identified, at this time the Police computer experts are checking the security cameras of the bank and neighboring properties.
Although it is premature, the investigators do not rule out that the employee has been turned in and even that there has been prior intelligence to find out in detail the hours and movements in which he makes bank deposits. Until now, the exact amount of money that was in the box is unknown, although it is presumed that it was around 5 million pesos.
