Long awaited by portable console enthusiasts, the ASUS ROG finally has a release date and it is already possible to pre-order it.
It’s official, la Asus ROG Ally will be available on June 13, 2023. This new handheld console has every intention to compete with Valve’s Steam Deck. On paper, the Asus ROG Ally looks better than its competitor, but at a much higher price.

Where to pre-order the Asus ROG Ally at the best price?
Asus announced that the official price of its portable console is 799 euros. It is not yet available, but it is already possible to pre-order it at certain retailers. Among these, we find Fnac, Boulanger, Cdiscount and the official Asus website.
Of course, these pre-orders come with different offers that differ from one reseller to another. With Cdiscount, it is possible to obtain a carrying case, but this offer is reserved for the first 500 buyers. If you order the Asus ROG Ally on the Fnac site, you will be offered a pair of Asus Rog Cetra True wireless headphones worth 129.99 euros. This offer is valid for the first 1000 participants.
Then if you go through Boulanger, the retailer offers a 512 GB microSD memory card and also a screen protector. This offer is reserved for the first 1000 buyers. Finally, there are several possible promotions on the Asus site.
- The first allows you to obtain in addition to the console, 3 months of Game Pass Ultimate subscription for the price of 799.99 euros.
- The second promises an accessory pack including a carrying bag, a charging dock and the console. All for an advertised price of 859.98 euros instead of 969.97 euros. This offer is only valid for the first 100 pre-orders.
- The third includes an ROG XG Mobile pack (an AMD Radeon RX6850M XT external graphics card) in addition to the console. the whole for a price of 1599.99 euros instead of 2099.98 euros.
What features for the Asus ROG Ally?
For starters, the Asus ROG Ally will work with Windows 11 operating system. In short, the ROG Ally is at the crossroads between a portable console and a computer. You can play your favorite PC games directly from it. Moreover, unlike the Steam Deck confined to the Steam catalog, the Asus console will give you access to a wide choice of games. For the technical part, the console embeds an AMD Ryzen custom Z1 Extrem processor coupled with 16 GB of LLPDR5 ram. It is available in a single 512 GB version of SSD storage capacity, but it is possible to add a microSD memory card to increase it. Then she has a 7-inch IPS touchscreen with a 120Hz refresh rate. For the graphics card, this is an AMD Radeon Graphics based on the AMD RDNA™ 3 architecture compatible with ray tracing.
Finally, we find a fingerprint sensor for security, a USB-C port et a 3.5mm combo audio jack. And obviously, it is possible to connect the Asus ROG Ally directly to a screen to transform it into a PC Gamer worthy of the name. All for a weight of only 608 grams.
