At least 45 dead in Rafah displaced persons camp

The Palestinian Health Authority says at least 35 people have died after an Israeli attack on a camp in Rafah.

They indicate that the attack took place in a camp that housed displaced people.

Israeli officials say they allegedly attacked a Hamas group and killed two of its top leaders.

Israel says the attack was in response to Hamas launching missiles toward Tel Aviv for the first time since late January.

Hamas claimed responsibility for the attack. Eight missiles were launched towards the city.

There were no immediate reports of deaths or serious injuries.

Negotiations between Israel and Hamas over the release of hostages are expected to resume tomorrow in Cairo.
