At least 60 people have been killed in an attack on a village in Burkina Faso. In the town in Yatenga province in the north of the country, “at least 60 people were killed by men in military uniforms from our national armed forces,” said the Ouahigouya prosecutor. Accordingly, the attack occurred on Thursday. An investigation had been launched.

The landlocked country of Burkina Faso is one of the poorest countries in the world. Since 2015, there have been regular armed attacks by jihadist groups, especially in the north of the country, some of which work with the terrorist network al-Qaeda and the jihadist militia Islamic State (IS).
