Mexico City.- The Opposition displayed banners in the Senate Tribune after the appointment of Ricardo Salgado as INAI commissioner did not materialize.

According to the parliamentary coordinator of Morena, Ricardo Monreal, there was an agreement to elect the new commissioner, but at the time of the vote, the result was negative.

Opposition senators shout “transparency, transparency” and seek to prevent the discussion of reforms at the close of the regular session in the Upper House.

Minutes before the vote, Monreal recognized that Ricardo Salgado Perrilliat would be the new commissioner of the INAI, because he had the highest qualifications in the selection process carried out by the Senate.

Jokingly, Monreal said that Ricardo Salgado’s name had come from his personal “tombola”.

“The opposition asked me to only be one (of the three). And what I want is the agreement, so I gave them almost everything. And since I did not want to be arbitrary, I decided to go for the most evaluated, the best qualified. We took away any allegations of disqualification or any disagreement”.

– Ricardo Monreal put Salgado’s proposal on the table?, he was asked.

“I made my own tombola and took Salgado out,” he replied.
