The Government prohibited the elaboration, fractionation and commercialization throughout the national territory and online sales platforms of a series of gluten free frozen products of the Fast Good company, whom he considered “illegal”.

These are certain batches of the “Frozen medallion of yamaní rice, peas and spinach”“Frozen medallion of quinoa, chickpeas and onion”, “Frozen medallion of chickpeas, black beans and beetroot”, “Frozen medallion of chickpeas, black beans, leeks, onions and sesame paste” “Frozen medallion of lentils, chickpeas and carrots ” and “Frozen medallion of lentils, pumpkin and onions, gluten-free”.

All those frozen foods include the food symbol and legend on their label “Sin TACC”, but “they are falsely labeled because they do not have the corresponding authorization, being therefore illegal products,” according to the National Administration of Medicines, Food and Medical Technology (ANMAT).

Through Provision 3023/2023, published this Thursday in the Official bulletinthe body arranged to instruct a sanitary summary against the firm Fast Good SRL, with address in Bariloche, for infraction of the Argentine Food Code.

“The products are in violation for being falsely labeled by consigning the attribute of Gluten Free Food and carry the symbol and the legend ‘Without TACC’, without being authorized with such an attribute, turning out to be consequently illegal”, warned the ANMAT.

The agency justified its decision based on “protect the health of the celiac populationbefore the consumption of illegal products”, since in this case, they are food products that may contain wheat, oats, barley or rye (TACC) and that have the legend ‘Gluten Free’ and/or the symbol ‘Without TACC’ without having the authorization for that attribute.

The decision to prohibit the marketing of these foods was initiated as a result of an audit carried out by the Provincial Coordination of Environmental Health of the province of Río Negro (CPSA) that warned of the marketing of the product Frozen vegetable medallions of the Fast Good brand, labeled with the logo of “Gluten Free Food” without having that attribute enabled.
