James Cameron currently has three films in the top 20 most viewed films in France: his titanic released in 1997 remains the box office champion with 21,774,181 admissions.

Avatar 2 should exceed in a few days the 13,226,772 entries of Cinderella (1950) to become the 16th biggest success of French cinema. Worldwide, the film surpassed $2.174 billion in revenue. An impressive score, which confirms the technological bet of a film to which Cameron devoted a decade.

Three sequels in the works

Avatar- The Way of the Water takes place more than a decade after the events of the first film. When Colonel Miles Quaritch returns to Pandora, Jake Sully, his wife Neytiri, and their four children are forced to leave the forest for the reefs, where the Metkayina live, who warily welcome them.
