At the Ernesto Cortissoz international airport in Barranquilla, there was a confrontation between passengers who were protesting a canceled Avianca flight and, frustrated by the lack of attention on the part of the airline, they fought, since they did not allow the departure of the flights that were arriving at the terminal and the police had to intervene to control the situation.

“The flight never arrived, later they told us that there was an emergency and that it had been diverted to Bucaramanga because two passengers had gotten sick. We all got upset, finally the flight was cancelled, they didn’t send us to a hotel, they couldn’t relocate us, they didn’t give us food. They scheduled my flight for 10 in the morning, without breakfast and without the Avianca company having supported us in this whole situation,” said Ramiro Tapia, one of the passengers, according to RCN.

There were 182 travelers who were scheduled to take off from Barranquilla on flight AV 8529 to Bogotá, but initially they were informed that they could not leave due to technical problems with the aircraft, then they were told it would arrive around 11 at night, but it never landed and it was canceled
