Báez Sosa case: the requested sense of justice of Leandro Paredes

The text that Paredes shared

I’m Fernando Baez Sosa. On January 18, 2020, I went out to have fun with my friends and my girlfriend at a bowling alley in Villa Gesell. At one point we accidentally spilled some drink on a guy’s shirt, we apologized but they didn’t understand that it was accidental. At the exit of the nightclub, 8 of them grabbed me and beat me to death, 2 more filmed everything and laughed at me, being accomplices in everything. They beat me so much that even after I died they kept kicking me.

They left me stranded and went to eat at McDonald’s to celebrate that they had killed “a black man” as they said.

It’s been 3 years and I still haven’t gotten justice. I tell it because Fernando Báez can’t.

JUSTICE IS PERPETUAL.

I quote his dad:

“Hello son, here I am, it’s dad. How are you? I’m still here, resisting so as not to give up, I hug mom every day, covering her as best I can from the pain that surrounds us on all sides, when I chose Argentina to raise you there were several reasons, I wanted to give you the best, I wanted you to have everything that mom and dad did not have, I embraced this country because I also felt at home here, and it was like that, they took care of you and loved you all the time you lived with them here.

When they murdered you I was scared, we were alone, we didn’t have many relatives to go ask for help, remember that we only had 3 of us and that day there were only 2 of us.

But you knew that, that’s why you asked God, since you were there with him, you told him not to leave us alone, to send people to accompany us.

Son, it was like that, God sends us to ALL ARGENTINA to tell us with loud tears HERE WE ARE, WE WILL NOT LET THEM GO, THEY ARE NOT ALONE!!!

It is that strength that everyone gives us that every day makes me still have the courage to continue here with mom, Fer, we are still here, we are not giving up.

Don’t let us ARGENTINIANS please!!! This load is too heavy to carry between 2. Thank you ARGENTINA for accompanying these parents in such a difficult time.”
