French fashion house Balmain has lost dozens of clothes due to be shown at a show in Paris later this month after a truck carrying the clothes was stolen, its creative director Olivier Rousteing said, Reuters reports.

Rousteing said in an Instagram post that several thieves hijacked the vehicle carrying around 50 items from Balmain’s new collection between a Paris airport and the brand’s headquarters in the French capital.

According to him, the driver is fine.

“We are redoing everything but this is so disrespectful,” he said in his message.

Balmain is set to present its spring-summer 2024 collection on September 27 during Paris Fashion Week, featuring high-end brands including Louis Vuitton, Dior, Chanel and Hermes.

A Balmain spokesman confirmed the Paris show would go ahead, declining to comment on the robbery pending an investigation.

Balmain is controlled by Mayhoola, an investment fund backed by Qatar’s royal family.
