While Battlefield 2042 recently welcomed its version 4.2.0 with, among other things, the redesign of the Dump map, today it is the balancing and the evolution of the weapons of the Vault which are at the heart of the concerns of DICE and of the Battlefield community.

Balancing and customization of weapons in the Vault at the heart of DICE’s concerns

The Battlefield 2042 development teams have actually released development notes regarding the evolution of Vault weapons for Season 5. They explained that throughout the launch of Battlefield 2042, they received a lot of feedback from players asking for more new weapons. In response to this, they adapted Battlefield Portal weapons for use in All-Out Warfare modes and named them “Vault Weapons”.

However, after evaluating the Vault’s weapon arsenal, they identified various areas for improvement based on player feedback. They took into account the following elements:

  • The Difficulty Customizing Vault Weapons With Battlefield 2042 Parts
  • The wish to be able to customize the appearance of weapons in the Vault
  • The feeling that these guns weren’t able to consistently compete in All-Out Warfare modes

This is why the developers have decided to work on these points to improve the gaming experience for players. To start, they will adapt the weapons in the Vault so that they can be used with the accessories of All-Out Warfare, starting from Season 5. They also gave some examples of weapons in the Vault with all the accessories available associated with them:

  • MAUL Hybrid 1.5X
  • TV 2X
  • UH-1 Smart 1,5X
  • 8R Running
  • SHAN 2.5X
  • Bravo 3X
  • M22

  • Arcom Tactical Muzzle Break

  • 6KU suppressor
  • Cobra handle
  • BCG light handle

  • Lightweight Rattlesnake Handle
  • Mire laser STNR
  • T4 Thermal 3X
  • Heavy PB suppressor
  • Type 4 heavy suppressor
  • Extended magazine

The developers also took into account player feedback regarding the customization of the appearance of weapons in the Vault. So they decided to make all universal skins such as Multi-Terrain Forest (unlocked at Rank 0) and Technical Desert (unlocked at Rank 19) available for all weapons in the Vault. Additionally, universal skins will also be extended to all attachments that can be equipped on these weapons. These upgrades will bring more customization to weapons in the Vault.

The developers encouraged players to provide feedback and their favorite attachment and weapon combinations. They also assured players that they will continue to work on improving the weapons in the Vault to make the game more balanced and accessible.

Battlefield 2042 is still available in EA Play and therefore in Xbox Game Pass Ultimate, PC Game Pass and Xbox Cloud Gaming.
