The fashion designer and interior influencer Dennis (32) moved from Düsseldorf to Wuppertal because of his apartment. Before that he worked in London in high fashion: “It was very intense and it also influenced my menu a bit today.” His motto “My Guests’ Favorites” Dennis explains: “It’s a bit of the best of home feeling and what my friends like to eat from me.” There are:

“Great! That’s exactly my style,” Ansgar (59) feasts through the fried mussels on a spicy zucchini salad. Bazaar (33) tastes all the fine components of the appetizer: “The mint goes so well. You first have the spiciness and then the freshness afterwards.”

Since the Beef Wellington is cooked in one piece, Dennis has to rely on his thermometer. But after just a few minutes, he looks into the oven with irritation: “I’m a little confused because the thermometer doesn’t work the way I imagined it would.”

He takes it out of the oven and asks the others for advice. Ansgar picks up the hot thing, immediately drops it, jumps up and sticks his hands in the champagne cooler. “Sorry, it’s still hot upstairs,” apologizes Dennis, who is holding the measuring device on the lower part.

From slapstick to nursing care

“It was a bit slapstick at first,” laughs Esther tears. “And you laughed at the beginning,” she apologizes to Ansgar for her flash of laughter. “But that was really intense.” Ansgar can laugh again after cooling off: “I’m the kind of guy who likes to take matters into his own hands.”

Dennis goes into shock after the incident: “Now he’s burned himself, poor guy.” He apologizes again to his guest, who waves him off: “Don’t worry, we’ll get another ointment in a moment.” Esther laughs again: “Well, you’re the nursing case now.” Ansgar grins: “Finally in the spotlight.”

Despite the excitement, Dennis brings a perfect Beef Wellington to the plates. “Great,” Ansgar feels good again when he sees the food. Esther also raves about her Veggie Wellington: “It was the best main course of the week.”

Esther forgives the long wait

Shortly before half past eleven, dessert is finally on the table: lavender ice cream on roasted peach. “Better late than never,” Dennis apologizes for the wait. “It must have been almost an hour. Of course that’s too much,” says Esther. At least it was worth the wait, which is why she awards a full 10 points. With a total of 34 points, Dennis sits next to Basar in second place for the time being.
