President Joe Biden’s campaign insisted Friday that the president will not abandon the presidential race; despite the fact that the president acknowledged that he “no longer debates like before,” after his disastrous performance in the television confrontation against his electoral rival Donald Trump.

Biden acknowledged his lackluster showing while delivering a speech in North Carolina on Friday: “I know I’m not a young man. I don’t walk as easily as I used to. I don’t speak as eloquently as I used to. I don’t debate as well as I used to, but I know what I do do: I know how to tell the truth. I know right from wrong. And I know how to do this job, I know how to get things done. And I know what millions of Americans know: that when you get knocked down, you get back up.”

However, there are some fractures among those who insist on continue to support his candidacy and the Democrats who prefer a last minute change.

According to CNNBiden’s advisers spent Friday morning calling Democratic lawmakers, donors and other key supporters in hopes of dispelling some of the widespread panic.

One analyst told the outlet that there was “panic” among Democrats following the Biden-Trump debate.

On Thursday, Joe Biden and Donald Trump faced off in a historical debatein which the entire world was able to see the mental health of the head of the White House.

Biden struggled to keep up with the conversation, stammering and displaying unsteady behavior, sometimes stuttering and other times falling into periods of silence, as if having a lapse.

His performance was so disastrous that many in the Democratic Party believe he should withdraw from the re-election campaign.
