Biden refers to Kamala Harris as "Vice President Trump" at press conference

The press conference of Joe Biden Thursday, in which the Democratic leader was trying to show that he is fit to continue in the White House, failed to dispel doubts about his mental health.

In answering the first question, Biden mistakenly referred to Kamala Harris as “Vice President Trump” and continued talking without realizing what she had said.

“Look, I wouldn’t have picked Vice President Trump as my vice president if I thought she wasn’t qualified to be president,” he said.

It was his first meeting with the press after his dismal performance in the debate with Trump last month.

He did not remain silent and immediately shared a message mocking the president and calling him a “little man.”

“Joe crook has a bad case of Trump Derangement Syndrome,” the Republican politician wrote on his network, Truth Social. “Great job, Joe!” he quipped.

Biden later tweeted back: “By the way, yes, I know the difference. One is a prosecutor and the other is a criminal,” he said.

Sadly, Kamala’s association with Trump was not Biden’s first lapse of the day.

Hours earlier, during the closing of the NATO summit, when introducing the President of Ukraine Volodymyr Zelensky, He referred to him as “President Putin”.

On that occasion, he did realise his grave error and corrected it, justifying himself by saying that he was so focused on beating Putin that he had made a mistake. Zelensky, for his part, took it with humour and said: “I am better.”

Even though Biden has confirmed his intention to run for re-election in November, more and more people close to him are advising that he should withdraw from the campaign and make way for others.

One of them is his friend, the famous actor George Clooney, a well-known Democratic activist, who wrote an article In the diary New York Times in which he points out that Biden is too old to continue leading the country and warns that if he does not leave, the Party will lose the elections.

“I love Joe Biden. As a senator. As a vice president and as a president. I consider him a friend and I believe in him. I believe in his character. I believe in his morals. Over the last four years, he has won many of the battles he has faced. But the one battle he cannot win is the fight against time. None of us can,” she wrote.

“It’s devastating to say, but the Joe Biden I saw three weeks ago at the fundraiser was not the Joe Biden of 2010. He wasn’t even the Joe Biden of 2020. He was the same man we all saw at the debate,” he added.

Also former Speaker of the U.S. House of Representatives, Nancy Pelosi suggested the president reconsider his decision to remain in the race.

“It is up to the president to decide whether he is going to run. We are all encouraging him to make that decision, because time is of the essence,” he said.
