Money – It’s a crime… is a text passage from the famous song “Money” by the rock band Pink Floyd from 1973, which is also celebrating its fiftieth anniversary this year.
Pink Floyd wrote the piece in a 7/4 time that is unusual for rock, which also gave the song a “certain remoteness”. Another passage is loosely translated: “Money is the root of all evil these days.” A topic that has not lost its topicality.
In its new program “Money”, the BigBandWalgau is dedicated to the topic of “power and money” in relation to current events. The 21 musicians cover a wide spectrum of music. With her unmistakable voice, the singer Alex Suter interprets songs such as “Money” and also the “Moritat von Mackie Messer” by Berthold Brecht and Kurt Weil.
