By obtaining the victims’ BankID details, Jansen took out loans in their names.

Three men and three women were defrauded for a total of NOK 4.5 million from April 2018 to August 2019. This had major consequences for the victims.

In court, Jansen essentially acknowledged all the frauds, and the court wrote that in several cases he has acted “distinctly recklessly, aggressively and very purposefully” to get hold of money.

Jansen has been open several times that he has struggled with a drug problem, and the court concluded that the frauds were carried out to finance drugs.

Begged to be released

He himself asked not to be sentenced to prison and instead to be sentenced to follow a so-called drug program with court control (ND).

ND is an alternative to an unconditional prison sentence for drug addicts who are convicted of crimes related to drug addiction.

Jansen was heard, which he greatly appreciated, according to defender Petter Bonde.

– Carl Aksel is very satisfied, and I believe that the court has delivered a correct and reasonable verdict, the lawyer told TV 2 after the verdict had been handed down.

However, there was a premise: If Jansen did not follow the program, he would have to go in and serve two years and four months in prison.

Now he has to go in

Last autumn, the 27-year-old was brought to court, accused of having breached the conditions relating to the implementation of the drug programme.

The correctional service demanded that he be transferred to prison instead.

They pointed out that he has repeatedly broken agreements and submitted positive drug tests. Jansen has also left the country without obtaining consent to this, according to the ruling from the district court.

The court held that the irregularities have been of such a nature that he “in reality largely evades punishment”.

Considering appeal

The district court decided to sentence Jansen to one year and nine months in prison.

The case was appealed to the Borgarting Court of Appeal, but they rejected the appeal on Thursday this week.

As a result, Jansen must go to prison.

– I have to have a chat with my client and consider whether we should appeal this decision, says defense attorney Petter Bonde to TV 2.

The judgment is not legally binding until the appeal period expires. Jansen will then be called in for sentencing.
