Because a low-cost Indian airline recently forgot 55 passengers, the airline had to pay a million rupees (11,000 euros). The Indian civil aviation authority ordered this, as Indian media reported on Friday.

A Go First plane left Bengaluru for the capital Delhi almost three weeks ago due to a communication error without the people already waiting on a bus.

Ground staff and the crew of the airline’s machine had misunderstood each other, it was said at the time. A total of four buses were used to bring passengers to flight G8 116. Only one was stopped for reasons that have not yet been clarified.

In it sat 55 people with boarding passes and luggage tags – but only their checked suitcases made it into the machine.

53 of the stranded passengers had been rebooked on later flights of other companies, Go First announced at the time. The remaining two would have preferred a refund of the fare. (dpa)
