Almost 18,000 Cubans crossed the United States border last April, according to monthly data published by the Border Patrol (CBP).

The data, extracted from the active systems and data sources of the CBPindicate that 17,870 Cubans arrived on US soil in the fourth month of the year, the majority through the land border with Mexico.

Although the number of meetings of irregular Cuban migrants at the borders was reduced compared to March (19,571) and at 20,815 in February, the figures are higher than those corresponding to the same period in 2023.

The data are eloquent that the Cuban immigration crisis continues unstoppable amid a deterioration in living conditions on the Island.

CBP also reported this Thursday that the number of Cubans authorized to travel to the United States “in a safe, orderly and legal manner” thanks to the humanitarian parole program approved by the Biden administration, reached 86 thousand until the end of last March. , according to recent data provided by Customs and Border Protection (CBP).

“Specifically, 86 thousand Cubans, 168 thousand Haitians, 77 thousand Nicaraguans and 102 thousand Venezuelans were examined and authorized to travel,” the entity stated in its report corresponding to the third month of the year.
